As I sit on the ''throne'' typing away on my PDA, I was thinking of how I am a Hockey fan more than a Bruins or Buffalo fan. I follow the playoffs when my teams aren't in it and the time between the Finals and July 1st I spend most of my free time reading about upcoming moves. But not just Bruins or Sabres moves but ALL of the teams moves. Damn typing on these things are...

As the Leafs turn....

Posted Wednesday | Comments 1
As we sit and await training camp which opens September 13/07, many Leaf fans are wondering some of the same things Will we make the playoffs this season? Are the Leafs going to make a trade? What will the line combinations be this season? Will a rookie step up in camp and make the team? These questions are no different then any other year as a die hard Leafs fan...
One afternoon, when I was 4 years old (1984), I was at the Ice Palace in West Edmonton Mall with my brother and parents. I don't remember what the event was or why I was there, but, the Edmonton Oilers were playing a charity shinny game with some guys wearing red jerseys to this day, I claim, that they were the flames. Not because I remember Lanny's moustache or even a fla...

Preds Win, Fans Chat

Posted Friday | Comments 0
Woohoo! Go Preds! What a great start to our season. A shutout from Chris Mason, a bit of "enforcement" from Tootoo, a couple of goals from Arnott, and a packed arena. For a couple of hours tonight I was able to forget all the craziness going on with the possible sale of the Preds and just enjoy the hockey game. I've noticed an interesting phenomenon at Preds games. ...

Remembrance Day just passed up here in Canada and with American Thanksgiving on the way, it made me start thinking of reasons why I am thankful at this time of year, some of which I'd like to share with you all below. *I am sooooooo thankful of the people who have answered our country's call, both in the past and now, who and continue to defend the lifestyle we lead and...

What Is Being a Fan?

Posted Sunday | Comments 0
When I think of the word ''fan'' I immediately see a drunken fat guy painted in team colors yelling at the rink with pride. But what really constitutes a fan? In many occurrences in my life, I've been faced with people who allegedly cheer for a team, but when things go awry, they turn away and grab the reins of another club. Actually most of the people I converse with in p...

Yankees 12, Red Wings 1

Even those who don't follow baseball know who the New York Yankees are. And these fans and potential fans know what the Yankees are about - winning. We recall that earlier in the past season the Yankees were faltering. Some pundits were predicting that, for the first time since time immemorial, the Yanks would not make it to the post seas...
